Save More, Spend Less

No matter how much money you make, what matters most is what you do with it.

Whether you make a little or make a lot, the way you manage your money can make or break you.

Did you know that there are people who have high incomes but still live paycheck to paycheck? Did you know that there are some people with low incomes who live comfortably and do not live paycheck to paycheck?

😲It's true! ðŸ˜²

Higher income doesn't always mean that one is rolling in the money and lower income doesn't always mean that one is stuck on broke.

The key is to not live above your means. Living above one's means is often a recipe for disaster. Do you really need a brand new car, a massive home, and the newest cell phone all at the same time? All those things come with hefty price tags and additional considerations. You want to minimize your expenses and maximize your income. Your income and expenses should NOT be equal and your income surely should not be lower than your expenses.  Does that mean you shouldn't have nice things? NOPE! You can and should have nice things, but it should be things that are meaningful and have value to you. Don't get caught up in the material, and only buy what you can truly afford. Too often material things are used to symbolize how well you're doing; often times it only symbolizes wastefulness and even a cry for attention.

Always put something away for a rainy day. Rainy days will come, no matter who you are, the key is to be ready to face it. A small financial emergency (car repair, increase in insurance rates, broken phone, etc.) could be just an annoying inconvenience or it could be completely devastating; it all depends on how prepared you are.

Some many things that can be said, and will be in upcoming weeks, but the point is to spend your money wisely and always put something away. It's okay to splurge occasionally, but it's not okay to go broke trying to impress others or otherwise pursuing a lifestyle that you just can't afford.

Advice: Enjoy the fruits of your labor, but please don't eat them all at once! :-)
